  The atmosphere is descent the food is hit or miss. I went in there on 2/19/17 and got a breakfast sandwich and a Bloody Mary and figured I would try what they're famous for, the pickled fish. Now I understand the warning of consuming raw foods, but what they did not warn about were the worms that happen to be in their sardines. I have three years experience working in fish markets and was able to spot them immediately. This is something that any cook familiar was Seafood should recognize instantly before the pickling process even begins with fish. Just a heads up for anyone who is looking for seafood in Long Beach, it isn't here.

  After reading several mediocre reviews about this place I was a little apprehensive about giving it a try. Either things have changed for the better at the Pickled Fish or those other reviewers are crazy. This place is seriously awesome!
  We were greeted warmly upon entering and seated by the window with a fantastic view of the sunset. There is music every night, so we enjoyed an old-timey style group from Portland while sipping our cocktails.
  The menu is diverse, you can get small plates and salads or main entrees - we did both! The food was delicious and the service was attentive despite the busy night. Try the grilled gem salad for a unique take on a ceasar.
  Highly recommended if you like to have fun and eat good food!!
